<p>VoiceTra is a speech translation app that offers the convenient ability to translate your speech into various languages. Whether you're traveling abroad or welcoming international visitors to Japan, VoiceTra serves as a reliable personal speech translator.</p>

<h3>Features:</h3>
<p>Utilizing high-precision speech recognition, translation, and speech synthesis technologies developed by the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT), VoiceTra accurately translates your spoken words into different languages and delivers the results in a synthesized voice. The app also allows for instant switching of translation direction, enabling smooth communication between two individuals speaking different languages using just one device. Additionally, for languages that do not support speech input, text input is available.</p>

<p>VoiceTra is particularly useful for travel-related conversations and is recommended for various situations and places such as:</p>
<ul>
    <li>Transportation: Bus, train, rent-a-car, taxi, airport, transit</li>
    <li>Shopping: Restaurant, shopping, payment</li>
    <li>Hotel: Check-in, check out, cancellation</li>
    <li>Sightseeing: Overseas travel, serving and supporting foreign customers</li>
    <li>Emergency Situations: Also recognized as a disaster-prevention, disaster-related app.</li>
</ul>

<p>While VoiceTra can function as a dictionary for looking up individual words, it is recommended to input complete sentences as the app interprets meaning from context to produce accurate translations.</p>

<p>VoiceTra supports an impressive range of languages including Japanese, English, Chinese (simplified), Chinese (traditional), Korean, Thai, French, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Spanish, Myanmar, Arabic, Italian, Ukrainian, Urdu, Dutch, Khmer, Sinhala, Danish, German, Turkish, Nepali, Hungarian, Hindi, Filipino, Polish, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Malay, Mongolian, Lao, and Russian.</p>

<h3>Restrictions and considerations:</h3>
<ul>
    <li>Internet connection is required to use VoiceTra.</li>
    <li>Translation results may take longer to display depending on network connectivity.</li>
    <li>The availability of text input is dependent on the language support of your device's operating system keyboard.</li>
    <li>In cases where the appropriate font is not installed on your device, the characters may not be displayed correctly.</li>
    <li>Please note that certain functions or the app itself may be disabled during server downtime.</li>
    <li>Users are responsible for the communication fees incurred when using the application. It is important to be aware that international data roaming charges can be costly.</li>

<p>It's worth mentioning that VoiceTra was initially developed for research purposes with the intention of collecting data for improving speech translation technologies.
